Melissa Lee Carlson, Nov. 10 1959 - May 27 2009, Loved Always

Just got back from Melissa's memorial service. It was very beautiful and touching. She was a true mentor and friend and I already miss her dearly. =*(












She was 5'2" but had a thing for big horses. =) Here's her first horse, a Percheron named Titan:



I only met her a few years ago when she began working as my protege/soon-to-be-replacement at the stable in the summer of 2006, but I will treasure our time together always. She was a truly amazing and wonderful woman.

*hugs* I'm sorry to hear that she's gone. I do love the "little woman with a thing for big horses", though. Somehow makes me feel like I have a glimpse of her personality in just those few lines. I can see how you'd miss her.
