Guilty Pleasure
What's your guilty pleasure? I indulged in mine today while I stayed in bed sick with a cold: Project Runway.
I find it difficult to rationalize why I like this show. I have no interest in clothing design, fashion, sewing, modeling, or anything else related to these.
So why do I find it so damn entertaining? The fact that the contestants are all crazy characters? That the challenges are so ridiculous? That the clothes they make would almost certainly never be worn in real life? (although I suppose you could say that about all fashion shows). How they complain when they have to design clothes that will fit "real people" and not models? That they get into near catfights when they have to work together and don't agree with each others' ideas? Then comes the fun at the end when I start shouting at the TV because the judges inevitably choose some of the lamest/ugliest clothes or worst designers to win. Or the fact that Heidi Klum is a judge and her outfits are always hideous.
There's all this and more, and when it comes together I find myself glued to the screen. And then I feel embarassed for having not only watched it, but having thoroughly enjoyed it! I guess I just like all the drama involved in finding out who will be IN and who will be OUT. Thanks a lot, Bravo! =P
So, go ahead and fess up! What's your guilty pleasure?

although I liked last years winner. I think he's the best thing to come out of the show.. even though I'd never wear his stuff I just love hos cocky and confident he was.

3) Figure Skating. I absolutely adore it, particularly the mens' category. Yay, pretty skinny guys participating in the only sport I like~! Look up Daisuke Takahashi, he's a Japanese figureskater who combines classical skating and hip-hop elements. Cool beans.
2) A fascination with/almost admiration of Victoria Beckham, who I acknowledge is too skinny but who I also (to my great shame) also believe to be very pretty.
And, the most damning of all,
1) Survivor. I have no idea why I have watched 90% of the episodes ever aired of it. I have no idea why I have watched every finale. And I have no idea why or how I continue to be interested.
Eeeeeep!
PS: I'm America's Next Top Model, not Project Runway. It's even worse on the guilty pleasure scale, really...and like you I have no idea why I like it (although I do have a strong interest in fashion design, and am seriously considering making modeling a sort of temporary profession, maybe while at Uni).
*lmao*
I hear they're coming out with a Top Model series that's from the view point of the photographers and not the models. So Top Photographer or something like that. That would be interesting to see, considering I like seeing how photographers can make ordinary things look very interesting/new.
=^..^=__)
so..
oh, and i love new york *hehe* hate me if you will, but i can't get over how crazy she is, and how normal she seems compared to how crazy the guys are. i think i followed the surreal life through flavor flav and brigitte, up to i love new york. and did anyone watch tila tiquela on mtv?
there's really not much else on these days with the strike, i guess. we've been watching dvds. Friends, start trek *lol*, a bunch of other stuff.
by the way, i don't think i ever said congrats on the wedding... CONGRATS! *l* i'm such an internet loser these days!
