I just bit into an apple and my lips and tongue were instantly set on fire. I may as well have been biting into a habanero! I spit the damn thing out and rinsed my mouth with water for a good while; the pain is dying down now but still not gone. What in the hell could have gotten on that apple?!

*mutter* need a Snow White icon now...

Can this year just be over already?

Weird! For future reference, milk kills the fire in your mouth the best, followed by soft, white bread. Water can actually amplify the burning.

Unfortunately I have neither here at work. =( I hate spicy food, I never eat it...even mild salsa is way too much for me to handle!

Actually, milk just pushes the oils around. What actually kills the fire is sugar water. So any drink with sugar will kill the fire.

Yagh! Jeez! If you are at work, then I would assume that maybe someone rubbed some kind of spicy oil on it or something? Do you have any pranksters there? Or maybe it was stored in the same bowl as something else that was spicy and the flavor rubbed off?
