So in the midst of all the wedding craziness, I've neglected to mention a couple of new things we have around here...


Number one: new cat! His name is Rembrandt, and I guess you could say we "inherited" him. My friend Melissa's friend died and left her his cat, but her husband didn't want a cat, so she had to find a home for him. I had not yet found my lap cat I'd been wanting for ages, and when she told me that he was a lap cat, I decided to take him home on a trial basis and see how it worked out. He's completely mellow (not too surprising seeing as he's 8 years old) and Josh adores him, so we kept him. Acquired July 1st.



Number two: new car! Josh finally found the car he's been searching for, a black Jetta TDI. It's a really nice car with all kinds of cool features and great gas mileage. But...it's a stick shift! Which means I'll now have to learn how to drive a stick, so that will be very interesting. Acquired July 5th.

Learning stick isn't too hard. I learned in a day. It's just a matter of timing and learning to instinctively shift at the appropriate time.
