I hate April Fool's Day
Apr. 1st, 2010 09:24 amAnyone else hate April Fool's Day? I can't stand it, I think it's just about the most obnoxious thing ever. Maybe it's because I'm so naturally trusting, and I believe people when they've given me no reason to doubt them. This day pisses me off because:
1. You can't trust anything. Anything you read, hear, see, etc. could be false. It's like your entire day is wasted, you may as well just stay in bed and sleep through the entire thing because anything you encounter today might not be real.
2. You can't say or do anything that IS important/significant/real/scary/upsetting/etc. because people probably won't believe you! What if something horrible happened and I needed to let people know about it? Today they'd be like "oh haha, very funny, April Fool's, you're not tricking me!" How fucking frustrating and upsetting is that??
3. I hate pranks. They're almost always stupid, cruel, and mean-spirited. It's horrible to create panic and distress for someone for no reason other than you think it's funny! Life is already full of cruelty and hardship, and we don't need assholes to add to it unnecessarily, thankyouverymuch.
