Looks like the storm is finally here...first thunder, now hail.

So I ran out to Fry's a little while ago and met up with my dad there on his lunch hour. I got an external hard drive to back up all my stuff on (which I hope I'll be able to get to!), and a new power supply dad'll install when he gets home from work. I really hope it's just the power supply; I've burned out at least two or three of them before because I pretty much have my computer on all the time, and this seems like the same thing. My computer just turned itself off and I smelled something weird, that's usually the power supply burning out. I did try restarting twice, and at least one of the times the computer began to boot up normally before turning off again, so I think the hard drives are probably okay. If they're not I have a TON of redownloading to do :(

Put an X by the movies you've seen.
Put a / by the movies you've seen, but not all the way through.
If you get more than 70, you're a movie whore.

Well, good news and bad news about my computer. The good news is the hard drives seem to be completely fine; all my stuff is there and nothing has changed. The bad news is getting to the data. The power supply now works, but either the motherboard or video card or both seem to be screwed up and I'll need to get new ones. I don't know if either of them went bad before or if this is a result of the CPU fan crashing down on top of the video card because it wasn't attached securely. Either way my computer once again has to be partially rebuilt (I've had my computer rebuilt every 2-3 years when something or other inevitably wears out and fails), so I'll be without it for a few days. Bah. Well I guess I'll have to download any new anime episodes on this new drive for a while until my computer gets up and running again.
