Stupid cold...anyway, I stayed home sick today. Out of boredom I watched "Battlestar Galactica: The Story So Far" on Sci Fi. I've always heard about this show but have never seen it (even though people always rave about it) because from what I've been told you have to watch it from the beginning in order to understand anything. But I thought this recap episode would be a good way to skip over all that and see what all the hubbub is about. And, to my surprise (sci fi shows are hit or miss with me), it actually looks really interesting...I may just have to start watching this.

I'm the same way with sf shows--just because I like a lot of sf novels doesn't mean I like Star Trek and that kind of thing (I don't particularly, though I kinda liked Voyager). But BSG really seems a cut above in terms of quality and storytelling. :)

Well crap, it's going to take a while to get you caught up on all the epsiodes... or did they go all the way up to the end of Season Two?

Horray for BSG Season 3 starting the 13th!

If you really want to get the most out of it, start at the beginning. There's only so much they can cover in a sum-up episode, and so much of what makes the series great is the emotional attachment you have to the characters. Jumping in midstream you'll lose a lot of that. Start at the beginning, witness the Cylon invasion, go with the heroes through all the shite they've had to go through... and you'll be just as in love with this show as the rest of us.

are you reading my friends list? This is just creepy.

Anyhoo, (talking to Velchan now) BSG is fabulous: netflix it if you can, find someone to borrow it from if you can't. If you want, you can buy me a season or two for christmas and accidentally watch them first. If you buy used copies you'd even be doing me a favor, making sure there weren't any scratches or anything.
